Ashington Homes is a Sydney-based residential builder delivering architecturally designed homes with genuine pricing certainty and a transparent building experience. Founded in 2020 by directors Simeon McGovern and Imad El Masri, the business was established to address a clear gap in the market as builders who design to budget first, then build to that same budget. 

Specialising in custom homes, duplexes, and complex residential projects, Ashington Homes brings extensive experience across difficult sites and Flame Zone builds. With a hands-on leadership approach, our directors remain directly involved throughout every project, ensuring strong communication, considered decision-making, and consistent oversight. This structured, collaborative approach allows each home to balance design intent, functionality, and long-term value.

Our Process

A Structured Building Journey

Initial consultation

We begin by listening to what you would like to achieve so we understand your needs. This will be an initial consultation with you, either in your home or on your site. Having a look at your site and sitting down for a chat is a really good way for us to get to know your family and understand your needs and the things that are important to you. We will then develop a design brief collaboratively to meet your budget and timeframes.

Design

We begin by ordering a site survey and soil test. Our talented design team will then create a beautiful home based on your brief and we will refine it until we are confident that it fits within your budget. We will then prepare a realistic quote that includes everything you will need. The cost of Stage 2 is invoiced separately, and if you choose not to proceed, you still get to keep the plans.

Approvals

Once you have a design that you love and a budget that works we will then prepare the plans for approval, either via CDC or council. We organise all of the engineering plans, and reports that are needed. We work hard to make sure that this goes as fast and as smoothly as possible. Whilst this is happening we can organise demolition quotes, dilapidation reports and anything else needed to fast track the process. Once we have all approvals, we will finalise the cost of the project, which will include the cost of any additional conditions imposed by your Local Council. The contract must be signed before construction starts.

Construction & Handover

Building your dream home is a collaborative partnership. Throughout construction, we maintain regular communication, including onsite meetings to keep you informed and involved. You’ll have the opportunity to select your tiles, taps, and appliances to suit your vision, while our skilled team of contractors takes pride in delivering a home as if it were their own.

Upon completion, we conduct a comprehensive walkthrough with you to identify and address any remaining items. Once everything is finalised and the final payment is made, we formally hand over your completed home.
